MESSAGE OF HON. MINISTER OF FOREIGN EMPLOYMENT PROMOTION & WELFARE

The Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion & Welfare was established with the aim of increasing the demand of Sri Lankan Employees in the world job market directing the country's foreign employment sector towards a new era in accordance with "Mahinda Chinthana". His Excellency: The president Mahinda Rajapaksa has vested the responsibility of the new ministry to my self and also I have been entrusted with the task of promoting foreign employment for the benefit of Sri Lanka.


Accordingly our objective is to direct Sri Lankan Foreign job seekers towards productive professional level employment provide training and other facilities, guidance, welfare of foreign job recipients and their families and housing development for those employees. Further my aim is to devise a special program to provide practical training in relation to employment field, language and culture in foreign job offering countries and thereby secure more employment opportunities. My ministry will take measures to devise and implement effective plans towards this end.
